Michael says: “The song is about those moments in life when you simply don’t know what the right choice is. We tend to think our lives should follow some kind of straight line, but they rarely do. The wrong turns, the chances we take, and even the things we lose can end up taking us somewhere we never expected. Sometimes you just have to let the coin spin and see where life takes you. We’re all unfinished, constantly shaped by what happens along the way - and I think there’s something beautiful in that.”
“Crowded Silence” marks Michael Kratz’s fourth studio album, a new chapter that continues his path built on craftmanship, curiosity, and a genuine passion for songwriting. Inspired by the golden age of American West Coast music and the melodic sophistication of British New Wave, Kratz strengthens a personal musical identity - far from trends and focused on strong melodies, solid musicianship, and sincere expression. Over the years, he has collaborated with internationally-renowned musicians such as Steve Lukather, Michael Landau, David Garfield, and Dom Brown of Duran Duran. He’s worked closely with Kasper Skadhede Viinberg, his trusted creative partner throughout the entire process.
Mixed by Viinberg and mastered by Morten Maltesen, “Crowded Silence” will be released on January 22, 2027, featuring artwork by Aeglos Art (Wheels Of Fire, Backlash, Raintimes, Room Experience) and introductory liner notes by Eric Berger (RockMeeting.com).
